Ahh.. A brand new day with some bad news.Swine flu is real and actually started killing people in India.Now that 6 people are dead the Govt. is pulling up its socks(Do politcians wear any) and now allowing Private Hospitals to treat HINI infections.I don't know what took the government so long in doing so but i suspect the 'AAM AADMI' rhetoric had gotten to the govt and it thought the Private hospitals would fleece the patients.I actually don't care if they are fleecing me or not until the time I am alive and I am willing to pay for my treatment if it means escaping the laidback attitude in a Govt hospital.
Well enough of Government bashing I guess.Its secondary now what the government could have done....Its all about what the government does Now!!!!!!!!!
Today morning I came across a article in a reputed newspaper.The article was something like this-Everyday on an average 10-14 people fall of local trains in Mumbai nad many die but noone cares and when just 6 people have died due to swine flu there is a hue and cry over it.
It might be I am interpreting the author wrongly but I am aloowed that.May be in the context of the article he's correct.Actually If he didn't mean the way I am interpreting I'll be sad .Because what that person pointed out is such a big truth that we fail to confront it because maybe we are so used to it. It would be abnormal i guess if we don't witness a accident everyday of our lives. Its a sad commentary of what our country has become after 62 years of Independence.
Yes i recognise swine flu is something which can wipe out huge populations but isn't this a truth that the number of people expected to be killed eventually by swineflu will be around the people who die every year before they are supposed to.Everybody says we are a youg nation but youthfulness has to be harnessed otherwise it'll be of no use.Yes the government needs to do much more to contain swine flu and increae the screening of passengers at all major airports and seaports.
I don't know what else to say,but ..No matter how a human life is lost may it be by swine flu or by accidemts all lives are precious.
