TERROR AND US

Another day, another strike, the same outpourings of grief, same scenes replicated blast after blast, but have we become so insensitive to the cries of others around us?

Day after day the terrorists strike at will anywhere anyplace of our nation and what does our government do?
Issue some silly statements .
What does the opposition do?
They shout we need stronger laws which was enacted by us.
But what is the net result?
Life goes on as usual and the blasts become something of a bad dream which we forget only to be reminded by the next blast.

The question is why don't we do something about it?why don't we keep our eyes open to suspicious activities around us?Why is it that we the people of India don't take to roads protesting against the inactivity of the government?

The questions may seem very tough. Many will say its not something a common man can do and what i am saying is far from reality. We have much more important things to do like getting a livelihood so that we can have a good life, cars, air conditioned homes etc.But is livelihood more important to us than our life? What will we do with money, cars a good home if we are not there to enjoy them?Yes i am also one of them who shy away from activism because i have so much to fulfill security can wait.We don't have the guts to go out and demand something which is essential for survival. We are not willing to break the archaic rules which have become redundant because we have this false security about those rules that at least the rules ensure functioning of our society but we don't care about improvement of the functionality of our society.

The doctors come out protesting against reservations and are willing to face water cannons and tear gas for their just cause.People are willing to take out candle-light vigils when a wrong judgment was passed in Jessica Lal murder case. But no one seems to care about our security which affects all of us.The problem is we don't act until and unless we are individually affected by something.Lets say for the blast victims .they will be shouting hoarse and will be talking about protests but the doctors treating them or the people sitting at home watching there plight on TV will say to them calm down it doesn't happen everyday. It was sheer badluck but ask a parent who has just lost their child can they actually calm down??
Its very easy on our part to stay calm because we aren't affected but we should act before its all too late.

TERRORISM STRIKES DELHI

9/13 A black day in our country's history. A catastrophe waiting to happen has struck the capital of India Delhi.6 blasts but all of a sudden i feel as if all of us have grown insensitive to the blasts and people dying in them. Many news channels were busy transmitting first shots of the victims lying on the grounds laying unattended with only the crews in site and nobody from the rescue teams yet there to help up the victims.Sounds very sad but the news crews chose to transmit live pictures of the victims rather than giving a hand to the harried rescue workers or put down there cameras to help the injured. They might say it was there duty but can anyone tell me is any duty worth a human life lying in front of you dying ,bleeding grimacing in pain?

Its time for introspection which sadly none of us will do. Various news channels will run a story of how it all went wrong and what the government ought to do.some stories of bravery would undoubtedly come out of all the chaos but will the news channels run a story telling us how there crews stood dere transmitting images of people dying in front of the camera when nobody was there to help the victims? Our media claims to be very enlightened and wants to be counted among the best in the world but i am sad to say in there mad rush for TRP'S they have just managed to stoop to another new low.

i doubt if i am a human anymore?????????

In a span of few days my afternoon chats with few of my friends veered to the direction of people who hail from the north-east(who are termed more often than not 'CHINKIS). I would be very wrong to say that i also refer to them as chinki's most of the times and inspite of being sorry still keep on doing that.

So you may ask whats the big deal and i agree that's hardly alarming .But what took me aback was the perception of my friends which i thought they didn't have unlike the majority of Delhites.(i strongly hope i am wrong about people's perceptions)What they said apalled me.They said because the way the girls from North-east dress up and the way they are quite open minded that implied that they dressed up like that because they were soliciting sex.An d its just there way of dressing and there openness to boys made them feel so.

I was shocked not beacuse they were my fiends but beacuse they were judging someone by their appearances and put a tag on them which is completely unjustified to any girl let alone those hailing from the nort-east of our country.I guess people can't digest the fact that these people have their own unique identities and carry of what they wear which we can't dream of wearing.I could feel its poor jealousness on our part which leads to degrading the people from north-east.And i blame the ignorance about there cultures back home which makes us so vicious in our observations. In the nort eastern parts of our country there is hardly any discrimination betweena boy and a girl and infact in some areas its the woman of the house who earn the bread and butter while men sit at home and do household chores.
Suc is the level of freedom and so broad are there thought which we narrow minded people can't understand and brand dem as sluts just because the way they dress.

Its a very humble request to all my friends please dont ostracise them or give them so shamful tags .They are same us as .If we continue doing so can we blame that they stay in their own closely knit communities and hardly venture out?Can you venture out if people around you are so vicious in their thoughts?
please guys open up your minds and think ..........

view orkut when its blocked

Well are you iching to check your orkut scrap book?
are you feeling incomlete without your daily dose of orkut?
check out the steps and lead a happy 'orkutful' life

Before you’re able to access your scraps at work, you do want to note down one little detail about profile. Here’s how

  1. Log onto www.orkut.com and goto your scrapbook.
  2. Now notice the URL. which resembles this somewhat..
  3. Notice the huge number after uid (16240246646782091018 in this case). That is your UID number for Orkut. Now copy that number and or note it down somewhere.
  4. You’re ready to rock now.

Now that you have your UID, we can move on to the next phase.

  • Surf on to www.google.com/reader and logon with your Google ID.
  • On the Left navigation panel you will find an Add subscription button. Click that

  • In the textbox that appears paste this URL

    http://www.indian-tv.com/orkut.php?uid=

  • Now replace with the huge number that you copied before (you did remember to note it down right)

  • So now the URL looks something like

    http://www.indian-tv.com/orkut.php?uid=16240246646782091018

  • Click on Add and now you see your scraps. You can’t reply to the scraps right beacuse i'm not a programmer to find.
  • And since this is not my material so sorry for any copyright infringements
