Ajmal Kasab was hanged Finall! So with that we kind of bring a speedy (Going by Indian standards) closure to the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The govt of India for a change didn't 'leak' the news out and it was done in a veil of secrecy.That made our media look bad as they couldn't create a spectacle out of it and no TRP's and no drama. Wow it was every news editor's nightmare.
So what does our news channels do? They can't let Ajmal Kasab rest in peace so they make a spectacle of his death. Stories about how the Pakistan govt didn't acknowledge the letter informing them about the hanging? How the family of Kasab disappeared? How secret the decision was that even the PM wasn't informed? But the most hillarious headlines were simply " Kasab was nervous a day before he was hanged" ? Man are you kidding me ? If I am told I'll be hanged tomorrow I'll be a nervous wreck. You never know I might have been pleading not to kill me. Then the next amazing piece was " Even the congress president didn't know about the event? Again the PM of the country is clueless but you expect the ruling party president to know?(That tells you how powerful or PM is ;) :P
And then again the second most amazing questions which were asked to the relatives of officers who died during the attack. The questions were like " How do you feel?" "Are you happy?" " What else after this" ? Its amazing that how the reporters try to sensationalize the whole event where it shouldn't be in the news for 24 hours.
Anyways a good day and a brave decision by India. Hopefully it'll deter future terrorists . I pray that there should be some sense in the people and stop killing people on the name of religion,race etc.
