TERROR AND US

Another day, another strike, the same outpourings of grief, same scenes replicated blast after blast, but have we become so insensitive to the cries of others around us?

Day after day the terrorists strike at will anywhere anyplace of our nation and what does our government do?
Issue some silly statements .
What does the opposition do?
They shout we need stronger laws which was enacted by us.
But what is the net result?
Life goes on as usual and the blasts become something of a bad dream which we forget only to be reminded by the next blast.

The question is why don't we do something about it?why don't we keep our eyes open to suspicious activities around us?Why is it that we the people of India don't take to roads protesting against the inactivity of the government?

The questions may seem very tough. Many will say its not something a common man can do and what i am saying is far from reality. We have much more important things to do like getting a livelihood so that we can have a good life, cars, air conditioned homes etc.But is livelihood more important to us than our life? What will we do with money, cars a good home if we are not there to enjoy them?Yes i am also one of them who shy away from activism because i have so much to fulfill security can wait.We don't have the guts to go out and demand something which is essential for survival. We are not willing to break the archaic rules which have become redundant because we have this false security about those rules that at least the rules ensure functioning of our society but we don't care about improvement of the functionality of our society.

The doctors come out protesting against reservations and are willing to face water cannons and tear gas for their just cause.People are willing to take out candle-light vigils when a wrong judgment was passed in Jessica Lal murder case. But no one seems to care about our security which affects all of us.The problem is we don't act until and unless we are individually affected by something.Lets say for the blast victims .they will be shouting hoarse and will be talking about protests but the doctors treating them or the people sitting at home watching there plight on TV will say to them calm down it doesn't happen everyday. It was sheer badluck but ask a parent who has just lost their child can they actually calm down??
Its very easy on our part to stay calm because we aren't affected but we should act before its all too late.
